Johnny Rosenthal to Draft Area 52

October 5, 2012

Summit Entertainment has hired Johnny Rosenthal to draft the comic book adaptation Area 52, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

Published in 2001, the four-issue miniseries was written by Brian Haberlin and told the story of a secret storage facility in Antarctica that houses the alien technology that Area 51 is no longer studying. The lead character is an army nurse who must save the day after a mercenary attack unleashes a fantastic terror.

The RED and Transformers: Dark of the Moon producing team of Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian will produce alongside JC Spink.

Rosenthal is a relative newcomer to Hollywood but is also set to provide the screenplay to the upcoming Bad Santa 2.
