Sony Pictures Sets Release Date for The Equalizer

Columbia Pictures has set an April 11, 2014 release date for The Equalizer, the big screen adaptation set to star Denzel Washington.

In the 1980s TV series, Edward Woodward starred as Robert McCall, a secret agent with a mysterious past who doled out vigilante Justice. Woodward played the character on the CBS show that ran from 1985 to 1989.

The movie is being written by Richard Wenk and Alex Siskind is partnered with Escape Artists to produce.

The other film scheduled for that April 11 date is Relativity Media's Stretch Armstrong.
