Jack Ryan Director Kenneth Branagh to Play the Villain As Well
Kenneth Branagh (Thor), who has already signed to direct Paramount's upcoming untitled Jack Ryan movie, will now also play the film's villain.According to Heat Vision, "Branagh is in negotiations to play the movie’s villain, Viktor Stazov, a financial wiz who, with the help of the Russian government, masterminds a plot to devalue American currency and thus destroy the U.S. economy."
Chris Pine (Star Trek) will play Ryan, based on the character from the Tom Clancy novels. In this film, Ryan is a financial analyst living in Moscow.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Skydance’s David Ellison are producing.
