Official Kick-Ass Site Launched, Trailer Coming!

Lionsgate has brought online the official website for the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book adaptation Kick-Ass at IAmKick-Ass.com. The site features a Flash intro and then gives you a peek at the new character posters combined. There you will also notice that the site is counting down to the trailer debut on MySpace.

Opening April 16th, Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

The film is based on the groundbreaking, best-selling comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

You should jump off a cliff for your beliefs. Stand for your rights and proclamations about Millar's "hack-ness." I will cheer you on.

Further note, definitely can't wait for this.

These posters give me hope that the film will really keep the source material in mind. Has to be better than Watchmen!

This is the one when they dressed that young girl up right and everybody feels out of place because she is like wearing something a 18yo should be wearing.

I'm glad, he's keeping to comic book. It's a great comic and story. Can't wait. Millar breathing some fresh air into this stuffy movie industry.
