Bradley Cooper Set for Dark Fields

Bradley Cooper is set to star in Dark Fields, a thriller being directed by Neil Burger for Relativity Media. Shia LaBeouf was originally attached to star.

Heat Vision says that the story follows a down-and-out writer (Cooper) who gets his hands on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He experiences sudden financial and social success but soon discovers that the drug has lethal and lasting side effects. Before long, mysterious antagonists are pursuing him.

The script is based on the book by Alan Glynn, with the screenplay written by Leslie Dixon (The Thomas Crown Affair).

Universal will distribute via Relativity's Rogue Pictures.

Awesome. Sounds interesting. I think Brad Cooper was a much better choice than Shia.

I agree. I think that Bradley Cooper is a better choice than Shia. The story sounds interesting and I'm always a little more confident when screenwriters have a novel to adapt the screenplay from. Looking forward to this particularly because I think the writers did a great job updating Thomas Crown Affair. Definitely a quality remake as far as those go nowadays.

Awesome! Bradley Cooper can hold his own in a serious role (see Midnight Meat Train) and Burger's last two flicks have been solid. Looking forward to this collaborative effort.

Book sounds like Wall Street meets Trainspotting. Not a fan of this.

Can Bradley Cooper play serious? At least Shia starred in a thriller before.

rich, I hope youre not saying that Midnight Meat Train was anything but an awful movie.

And this storyline is vaguely similar to Flowers for Algernon. Reminded me of it slightly.

I must agree with John. I remember hearing about this project two years ago and thinking that it's a good fit for Shia.

I think Cooper is going to develop into a really big star and a decent actor, but I have a feeling the material is better suited for Shia. We'll see though; I like them both I must say.

Cooper ain't exactly on fire. Hangover has been his only hit as a lead and even that was an ensemble piece.

Both Meat Train and All About Steve flopped. And don't tell me about A-Team, put Ryan Reynolds or any other 30something actor as Face and A-Team would still be a hit with or without Cooper. This guy ain't A-list

Cooper used to be on Alias and had a very serious role as a journalist, a close friend to the main character. He's very good at playing different kinds of characters. I think he'll be great for this role!

Is it so hard?? Brad wins hands down for an actor compared to whining Shia.

It's funny Brad lost the girl in Wedding Crashers (rightly so) but his career has just soared since (again rightly so). Look forward to this.
