Kevin Williamson Gives Scream 4 Update

Kevin Williamson teased earlier via his Twitter page that he's "writing" and that it's been a "late night." After a brief chat with MTV, it's evident that he's hard at work completing the script for Scream 4, with the 5th chapter also on cue. (He tells the site he's contractually obligated to Part 5 as well.)

We already know that stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are all returning, and although director Wes Craven hasn't fully committed, he has expressed interest and excitement over Williamson's ideas. So, what can we expect from the next sequel?

"The fourth one is an ensemble. It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in [Sidney Prescott's hometown of] Woodsboro. We'll have our three main characters, and we'll be introducing several more. We'll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new castmembers. That'll take us through the next three."

The plan has always been to launch a new trilogy of "Scream" films as he explains in the video embedded at the end of this post. Check it out for yourself to hear more about Scream 4!

Being a HUGE fan of Wes and the Scream Trilogy, you have to worry about certain things about "Creating another Trilogy". 1. Will we see one of our beloved heroines die :( 2. Will it be as successful as the previous 3? and 3. With most of the secrets about Syd and her family's past now come into focus, is there anything left?...Maybe Billy & Syd's Father team up this time round ;)

I'm ONLY interested in a 4th movie because kevin Williamson is once we again writing.

Scream 3 had A LOT of problems. Let's hope this is back to basics with no "anyone's voice" crap. :)

a new scream trilogy :D scream was one of my favorite horror movie. can't wait for a new movie.

@ Aussie Critic: i think the main caracters will be the new little group. neve, courteney and david will have a little part, i think they will comeback because they already fight with scream 3 times, and they will help the little group.

I assume that Sidney will be revealed as having gone insane from so many traumatic experiences and will become the Ghost-Face killer in one of these sequels. I mean, how else can they keep this series fresh(ish)?

I hope they kill of Neve in the opening scene of the movie. Start a new generation off. That or kill her at the end, and put a rest to the movies.
