Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers" films, upcoming Fury), Kate Mara ("House of Cards," upcoming The Fantastic Four) and Gary Oldman (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) are set to star in the psychological thriller, Man Down, it was announced today by producers Dawn Krantz (Doonby), Stephen McEveety (The Passions of The ChristThe LEGO Movie).

Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting) will direct from a screenplay by Adam Simon. Currently in pre-production, principal photography is scheduled to start on October 30 in Louisiana.

The Solution Entertainment Group ("The Solution") is handling international rights and will present the project to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival. Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel from The Solution are also executive producing the project alongside Roger Goff. Also slated to executive produce are Russell Geyser and Clay Pecorin. Patrick Hibler will co-produce the feature film.

The film tells the story of a haunted Afghanistan war veteran who attempts to come to terms with his past while searching for his family in a post-apocalyptic America.

"When I read this script for the first time I knew it was something very special. We are so thrilled to be able to have put together such an exemplary cast with an outstanding Director
to tell the story," said Krantz.

"Given the current landscape of packaging an independent film, we're ecstatic to come on board 'Man Down' which is a high-quality project with a superb, A-list cast attached. We are certain our international buyers will embrace this tense thriller at Toronto," said Wilson and Nestel.
