The Walking Dead Lands on the Cover of Entertainment Weekly, Father Gabriel Revealed!

Back in May, it was revealed that former "The Wire" star Seth Gilliam had joined the cast of AMC's "The Walking Dead" and though his role was being kept secret at the time, Entertainment Weekly has now revealed that Gilliam will in fact be playing Father Gabriel as many originally theorized.

"I only read the comic book where Father Gabriel was introduced," Gilliam revealed. "Which I think was episode 61 in the comics. I didn't read anything before that, and I haven't read anything after that. I discovered from reading about the show that often times characters' names and journeys are kind of crisscrossed and mismatched, so I thought if I did read too much I might be giving myself a lot of information that would be useless, or just outright wrong. So I figured, like with everything, I'd just take the script and try to fill him out the best I possibly can."

In addition, EW has revealed the four collectible covers for their next upcoming issue and they feature "The Walking Dead" stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira. Check them out along with the first official image of Gilliam as Gabriel below!

Based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, Season Five of "The Walking Dead" premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9:00pm ET/PT.
