Summit Entertainment has officially dated Safe House director Daniel Espinosa's next, Child 44. The film, which stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Vincent Cassel, will hit theaters on April 17, 2015.

Based on the best-selling novel, Child 44 offers a high stakes thriller set in Stalinist Russia. There, a senior member of the secret police (Hardy) is framed by a colleague for treason and exiled to a remote outpost. Here he unearths a series of mysterious murders and vows to catch the elusive killer, despite powerful members of the government who wish to silence him.

The April 17 date has Child 44 opening opposite Disneynature's IMAX documentary Monkey Kingdom, the Kevin James comedy sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and the Tarsem Singh sci-fi thriller Selfless, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Victor Garber.
