John Legend Plans 'Found Footage' Dance Feature

Musician John Legend is, according to a story at Deadline, teaming with screenwriter John Swetnam for Breaking Through, a "found footage" dance movie now gearing up for production. Swetnam will be making his directorial debut with the project.

Plot details are still few, but Breaking Through is likened in overall tone to the films in the "Step Up" franchise and plans to serve as a similar showcase for newly-discovered dance talent.

Swetnam, suitably enough, wrote the upcoming fifth Step Up film, Step Up All In, as well as the action-thriller Into the Storm.

Swetnam will also produce alongside Luis Fragali, Fabio Golombek, Mike Jackson, Uri Singer. Legend will executive produce with Alexandru Celea and Ty Stiklorius.
