The latest series of "Doctor Who" now filming in Cardiff, the BBC has today revealed the first official look at Peter Capaldi in full costume as the 12th Doctor. Sporting a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt as well as black Dr. Marten shoes, the look was created by "Doctor Who" costume designer Howard Burden. Check it out below!

The eighth modern "Doctor Who" series also stars Jenna Coleman, reprising her role as Clara Oswald. Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat has scripted the first episode of the new series with Phil Ford drafting the second. Both are directed by Ben Wheatley.

"He's woven the future from the cloth of the past," says Capaldi. "Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord."

"New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes," Moffat adds. "Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!"

"Peter Capaldi's Doctor is officially recorded in history today with the unveiling of his new costume," says Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One. "It's sharp, smart and stylish - The Twelfth Time Lord means business."

"Doctor Who" is executive produced by Moffat and Brian Minchin, and produced by Nikki Wilson and Peter Bennett. It is a BBC Cymru Wales production for BBC One.
