Miles Teller Offered Dan Aykroyd Role in John Belushi Biopic

January 19, 2014

The Hollywood Reporter has learned at the Sundance Film Festival that Whiplash star Miles Teller (Divergent) has been offered the Dan Aykroyd role in the upcoming John Belushi biopic, starring Emile Hirsch.

In fact, it was Hirsch who revealed it a party for the Creative Coalition Saturday night. "A shout-out to Miles Teller! We're going to be working together soon. He's playing Dan Aykroyd in the Belushi movie," he said.

Teller's agency CAA, however, is saying that while the actor does have the offer, he won't be committing to a new project until after Sundance and after he finishes press duties for the upcoming That Awkward Moment.

Aykroyd is an executive producer on the movie. Emjag's Alexandra Milchan and Bonnie Timmermann, Film 360's Scott Lambert, and Judy Belushi Pisano are producing. Steven Conrad is writing the script and will direct.
