Formerly titled Black Sky, New Line Cinema's "found footage" tornado thriller has been retitled Into the Storm and set for an August 8, 2014 release.

Directed by Steven Quale (Final Destination 5) from a screenplay by John Swetnam, Into the Storm stars Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Nathan Kress, Arlen Escarpeta, Jeremy Sumpter, Kyle Davis and Jon Reep.

The faux found footage film documents high school students caught in a deadly, tornado-spawning hurricane. Richard Armitage will play a widowed father who, with the help of storm chasers, tries to rescue his son from the aftermath of a string of tornadoes.

The August 8, 2014 release date puts Into the Storm up against Lasse Hallstrom's The Hundred-Foot Journey and Jonathan Liebesman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
