Originally slated for a Christmas Day release, Columbia Pictures' Annie will now arrive a week earlier, hitting the big screen on December 19, 2014.

Based on the Broadway classic, in turn inspired by Harold Gray's long-running comic strip, Annie comes to the big screen with a new, contemporary vision. Director/Producer/Screenwriter Will Gluck teams with producers James Lassiter, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, Jay Brown, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith and a cast that includes Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhané Wallis, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Cameron Diaz.

Celia Costas serves as Executive Producer. Gluck is currently revising the film’s screenplay, which was written by Emma Thompson and rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna based on the musical stage play “Annie,” book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin.
