True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld is set to join Vince Vaughn in Universal Pictures' adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel Term Life, The Wrap reports. Published in 2011, the original action thriller was the creation of A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow and features the following official synopsis:

If Nick Barrow can stay alive for 21 days he'll die happy. Everyone Nick knows wants him dead; Mob bosses, contract killers, and dirty cops. Performing the last act of a desperate man, Nick takes out a million dollar insurance policy on himself, payable to his estranged daughter. The problem? The policy doesn't take effect for 21 days. Nick knows they'll be lucky to be alive for twenty-one hours.

Steinfeld can soon be seen in a variety of big screen projects, including Gavin Hood's Ender's Game, John Carney's Can a Song Save Your Life? and Carlo Carlei's Romeo & Juliet.

Peter Billingsley (Couples Retreat) will direct with Lieberman himself providing the adapted screenplay and Vaughn producing alongside Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn.
