Djimon Hounsou is the latest surprise addition to the diverse ensemble of director James Wan's Fast & Furious 7. Variety reports that the Gladiator star will join Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Tony Jaa, Kurt Russell and Nathalie Emmanuel with many more franchise favorites expected to be confirmed in the days to come.

Hounsou's diverse upcoming slate includes this month's romantic comedy Baggage Claim, the currently unscheduled Seventh Son, the "found footage" horror project The Vatican Tapes, DreamWorks Animation's much-anticipated sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 and the Marvel Studios ensemble Guardians of the Galaxy.

Continuing from the cliffhanger tease at the end of Furious Six, Fast & Furious 7 is said to return the action to Los Angeles, although the production is eyeing an Atlanta shoot with a planned release date of July 11, 2014.
