The Da Vinci Code and A Beautiful Mind star Paul Bettany is set to make his directing debut with an upcoming project from Voltage Pictures and BiFrost Pictures titled Shelter. It was revealed today that both Jennifer Connelly (who is married to Bettany in real life) and Anthony Mackie will star.

He's also producing alongside Robert Ogden Barnum, Katie Mustard and Daniel Wagner with Dana Brownm Cassian Elwes, Clay Floren, Melanie Greene and Aimee Sheih executive producing.

Its my intention to surround myself with hugely talented people and then claim all the credit, said Bettany. I have great actors, great producers and a great city to shoot in plus Im hoping to keep alive the time-honored tradition sacred to directors and seduce my leading actress.

We are excited and honored for the opportunity to work with Paul on his directorial debut and on such a high-caliber project, said Wagner. This is a terrific story that will captivate audiences worldwide and we look forward to bringing it to the big screen.

Bettany can be see coming up in Wally Pfister's own directorial debut Transcendence, opposite Johnny Depp. Connelly, meanwhile, is re-teaming with Requiem for a Dream's Darren Aronofksy for Noah while Mackie plays Sam Wilon, aka Falcon, in Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
