Film production and finance company Dignity Film Finance (DFF) has optioned the novel "The God of Driving: How I Overcame Fear and Put Myself in the Driver's Seat (with the Help of a Good and Mysterious Man)," by Vanity Fair special correspondent Amy Fine Collins. The novel was published by Simon & Schuster in 2011.

DFF, headed by President Maggie Monteith, is fully financing the feature film production based on the novel. Sue Kramer (Gray Matters) wrote and will direct the comedy. Jill Footlick (Greetings From Tim Buckley) will produce and Marina Grasic (Crash) is executive producing.

Casting is currently underway with the project set to start shooting in Spring 2014. Sales will launch at Berlin 2014.

“As a writer/director, I was completely captivated by the unique characters in Amy Fine Collins memoir. 'God of Driving' is a road map of life, romance and style. It is one of the most unique love stories I have ever read. It is a filmmaker's dream to cast this movie—for both leads are dream roles of a lifetime; complex and deeply multi-layered not to mention the most stylized, fashion-centric film since Devil Wears Prada."

Amy Fine Collins said, "Sue Kramer has the humor, passion, instincts, and sophistication to bring 'The God of Driving' to life on the screen. I'm thrilled with how she gets the story completely, all the glamour and the grit. She is the ideal writer-director for this film."

Maggie Monteith added, "It is so rare to find a project that you can barely wait to see on screen, and so at Dignity we are overjoyed to be working with Sue and Amy to make a film we already love. If we can do justice to the book, and to its author in bringing her story to cinema, we know we have something very special."
