Annette Bening and Bobby Cannavale appear set to replace the previously attached Julianne Moore and Jeremy Renner in Dan Fogelman's Imagine, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Al Pacino remains attached to headline.

The film sees Pacino's character, an aging rock star, discovering that he has an adult son after reading a never-opened letter from John Lennon. Before Renner, Steve Carrell was set to play that son, but Carnavale is now likely to take on the part. Carrell remains aboard the project as a producer.

The film is planned as the directorial debut of Fogelman, who also provided the screenplay. His credits include Carell's recent Crazy, Stupid, Love.
