Michael Pena has joined the cast of David O. Russell's still-untitled next project. Deadline reports that Pena will star opposite Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and Louis C.K.

Based on the true story of a notorious financial con artist and his mistress/partner in crime, who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.

Pena was recently seen on the big screen in both End of Watch and Gangster Squad. He'll soon provide a voice for DreamWorks Animation's Turbo.

Columbia Pictures has slated the film for a limited release on December 13, expanding everywhere on Christmas Day.
