Gerardo Naranjo Boards Death Wish

Exactly one month after The Grey director Joe Carnahan left the project, Variety is reporting that The Mountains Between Us helmer Gerardo Naranjo is taking over Paramount Pictures and MGM's upcoming reboot of Death Wish.

Charles Bronson starred in the original 1974 film (in turn based on a 1972 novel by the same name) as a New York man who turns vigilante following the murder of his wife. The original Death Wish received four sequels (all of which starred Bronson) over the course of the next two decades.

Carnahan's departure was allegedly linked to creative differences over the film's lead. The studios are said to be keen on casting Bruce Willis for the part.
