First announced back in 2009, DreamWorks Animation's Monsters vs. Aliens is headed to the small screen as an ongoing animated series on Nickelodeon. Today, a trailer has debuted and you can check it out in the player below, courtesy of IGN.Based on the 2009 feature film, Monsters vs. Aliens tells the story of a team of monsters (the mutated genius Dr. Cockroach, the beastly Missing Link, the gelatinous B.O.B. and the 49 1/2 foot woman Ginormica) that are brought together to protect the Earth from interstellar threats.
Nickelodeon will launch the show on March 23 with a special premiere titled "Welcome to Area Fifty-Something" with the series begining regular airings April 6.
