Ari Graynor to Headline CBS' Bad Teacher

As was reported last October, CBS is developing a television version of the 2011 comedy Bad Teacher. Today, Deadline has revealed that the show has found its titular lead in For a Good Time, Call... actress Ari Graynor.

Graynor, who also made a brief appearance in last year's The Guilt Trip, will play Meredith Davis, a former trophy wife who, now divorced and penniless, is forced to take a job at a local middle school.

Despite their similar origins, it appears that Graynor's character will not be the same as Elizabeth Halsey, who Cameron Diaz played in the feature film version.

Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the screenwriters behind the film, are attached to executive produce alongside lead writer Hilary Winston.
