David O. Russell Takes The Ends of the Earth

February 19, 2013

David O. Russell has signed on to direct the upcoming romantic drama The Ends of the Earth, re-teaming with his Silver Linings Playbook lead Jennifer Lawrence, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

Lawrence signed on to headline the project last year, starring as Lydie Marland in the true tale. In the film, a powerful oil tycoon, Ernest Marland, loses everything after engaging in a controversial love affair with his adopted daughter Lydie.

The news of Russell's involvement arrives just days after word broke that he was planning on reuniting with both Lawrence and her Silver Linings Playbook costar Bradley Cooper for a still-untitled Abscam drama (formerly known as American Bullsh*t).

The Ends of the Earth is set to feature a screenplay by Argo's Chris Terrio.
