Bungie, the creators of the video game juggernaut Halo, have released the first footage of their new shooter game Destiny.

Here is their official description of the game:

"Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned the solar system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes.

You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City. Defeat our enemies. Reclaim all that we have lost. Be brave."

In Destiny, players can create their own characters and earn unique and customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.

There is no official release date yet, but you can pre-order your copy of Destiny for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 by clicking here or here, respectively, and don't forget to check out the website for Destiny at DestinytheGame.com.

What do you think of the video? Will you be picking up Destiny when it is released?
