Nicole Kidman Gets Down and Dirty in Destroyer Trailer

Annapurna Pictures has released the first trailer for Destroyer, starring Nicole Kidman in a performance that earned rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival. Check out the Destroyer trailer (featuring quotes from our glowing review here) in the player below, along with a new poster and stills in the gallery!

Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Kidman, who just came off an Emmy win for her acting and producing on the HBO hit Big Little Lies, Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Sebastian Stan (Avengers: Infinity War), Toby Kebbell (War for the Planet of the Apes), Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire) and Beau Knapp (The Nice Guys).

Destroyer is directed by Karyn Kusama, whose previous works include Jennifer’s BodyThe Invitation and a segment on the 2017 horror anthology XX. The screenplay is by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (Ride Along, The Invitation).

Destroyer opens in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 25, then expanding in January.
