Watch: First Trailers for Michael Bay’s ’13 Hours’ Balance Action with Political Drama

Rare is the day a trailer for a Michael Bay movie drops and it doesn’t involve a bunch of morphing machines and crappy jokes, but today is one such day as Paramount has released both a green band trailer and also a slightly extended red band trailer for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

Set for a January 15, 2016 release, 13 Hours is a political drama based on Michael Zuckoff‘s account of the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. State Department compound in the Libyan city of Benghazi, which left one U.S. Ambassador and three other Americans dead. John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, Max Martini and David Denman star while Bay directs from a Chuck Hogan (“The Town”) script.

When it comes to Bay’s work, I’m an honest-to-goodness fan of his first Transformers flick, but the franchise suffers seriously diminishing returns thereafter to the point I didn’t even bother with its most recent installment. The rest of his output is pretty to look at but otherwise largely empty, though I do enjoy Bad Boys quite a bit.

Quality aside, one thing is for sure: we are in for a whole lot of explosions in 13 Hours, as there are easily a dozen in each of the trailers below. Check ’em both out and see if you can keep track of all the fiery Bayhem.
