On the heels of premiering a Monuments Men, which takes a fictional (and by appearances, farsical) look at the true story of what the synopsis calls “the greatest treasure hunt in history”.
Written by Clooney with Grant Heslov, The Monuments Men focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. Along for the ride, including Clooney, are Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Cate Blanchett and more.
