Relativity has released a new trailer and poster for their upcoming William Shakespeare adaptation Romeo and Juliet starring Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Douglas Booth with a screenplay from Julian Fellowes (“Downton Abbey”).
I didn’t watch the trailer, but looking at the poster it almost appears as if they are trying to give off the impression it’s a modern day retelling when it most certainly isn’t. In fact, it’s just another telling of the story of the “star-crossed lovers” Romeo and Juliet whose love is denied due to the feud between their two families, the Montagues and Capulets. I like the story, but I just wonder what makes it worth telling yet again or what makes this one any different. Perhaps you can watch the trailer and give me some idea in the comments below.
Romeo and Juliet hits theaters on October 11.
