I’ve said it before, I think red band trailers are a cry for help. R-rated movies have been sold for years without resorting to red band trailers and yet, they’ve become the go-to way of capturing the attention of young ADD internet click-clickers.
So, when Sony releases a second red band trailer for This is the End I can’t say it gets my hopes up.
Directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the film finds Rogen starring alongside James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, David Krumholtz, Aziz Ansari, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Rihanna and Emma Watson. The story follows six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
