Everyone is On the Phone in Trailer for ‘Disconnect’

I was skimming through this just released trailer for Disconnect and expected to see Liam Neeson pop up as Bryan Mills any second as everyone is on the phone throughout most of it. Of course, that goes to the heart of the story, which is developed around our ever-increasing digital lives.

Directed by the Oscar-nominated director of Murderball, Henry Alex Rubin, Disconnect boasts a massive ensemble that includes Jason Bateman, Hope Davis, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough, Alexander Skarsgard and Max Thieriot. Here’s the plot:

A hard-working lawyer, attached to his cell phone, can’t find the time to communicate with his family. A couple is drawn into a dangerous situation when their secrets are exposed online. A widowed ex-cop struggles to raise a mischievous son who cyber-bullies a classmate. An ambitious journalist sees a career-making story in a teen that performs on an adult-only site. They are strangers, neighbors and colleagues and their stories collide in this riveting dramatic thriller about ordinary people struggling to connect in today’s wired world.

LD Distribution, which handled William Friedkin’s Killer Joe, is set to release the film on April 12 and just below is the first trailer and poster. Give ’em a look and see what you think.
