Watch: Five Minute International Trailer for ‘Cloud Atlas’

I guess Cloud Atlas from directors Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer has made its way online.

The film, based on the novel by David Mitchell, is described as an epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.

The cast includes Tom Hanks, Ben Whishaw, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, James D’Arcy, Halle Berry and Keith David and what’s even more interesting is each actor is said to have upwards of six different roles in the film.

I haven’t read the book, but apparenlty we meet a reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer living a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilization.

Check out the five-minute trailer below if you’re interested, but this is one I am definitely not watching as I’ll be catching it at the Toronto Film Festival in September before it hits theaters on October 26. The domestic trailer will be online at 10 AM tomorrow morning, Thursday, July 26.

Also be sure to check out the 22 pictures from the film which I just previewed right here.
