Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’ Hits Theaters in Just Over Two Months… Where’s the Trailer?

Some descriptions of a supposed trailer for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows popped up online in mid-February, but as we are now just over two months away from its May 11 release where is an official trailer or even a snippet of footage?

So far we’ve only seen a selection of photos including the four new ones I’ve included in this post from CineMarcado, but we don’t even have a poster yet?

Gossipers over at ONTD proclaim to have been involved in watching a few test trailers, one featuring The Doors’ “People are Strange” and that the film is “being marketed as a kind of comedy.” The descriptions are quite in-depth, which tells me someone either had a lot of time on their hands or some test trailers were actually screened back in February and have still yet to debut.

I’ve never actually seen the original “Dark Shadows” so I have no idea if it had elements of comedy or not, or perhaps Warner is just trying to figure out who and how to market this thing to before releasing a trailer and having it all fall apart. The fact we haven’t seen a trailer yet doesn’t bode well, however, when you look at all, but a few select films surrounding it’s release including films such as Battleship, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, Men in Black III and Moonrise Kingdom began marketing themselves long ago, as have most of the films in June.

Oh well, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. They can’t hold off much longer… can they?

While you’re waiting here are three more new stills from the film. See anything you like?
