‘The Bourne Legacy’ Trailer and Poster

Last night before my screening of Safe House the trailer you are about to watch for The Bourne Legacy played and at first I couldn’t tell what I was watching, but it quickly clicked and as much as I would love to say I liked what I saw I can honestly say it didn’t do much for me.

The film continues the Bourne franchise first started with Matt Damon (who will not be seen in this film at all) as the title character with The Bourne Identity back in 2002 and the franchise really took off when Paul Greengrass took over with The Bourne Supremacy in 2004 and finally The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007. Now, franchise screenwriter Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) has taken things over and brings us a story and a trailer that tells us… “There was never just one.”

Jeremy Renner stars as a new character that was caught up in the Treadstone operation and he’s joined by franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn as well as newcomers that include Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac.

The film hits theaters on August 3 so take a look below and let me know what you think and you can check out a hi-res look at the poster right here.
