International Trailer for ‘Lockout,’ a Sci-Fi Actioner Due in April Starring Guy Pearce

It’s no surprise this comes from Luc Besson’s Europacorp and is directed by a pair of French cinematographers in James Mather and Stephen St. Leger. I say that because this international trailer for Lockout looks like one of those glossy action thrillers from the company that brought us Taken, Hitman, Transporter and recently Colombiana and if the trailer is any indication, it looks like it could be quite entertaining.

Starring Guy Pearce and set in the near future, the story follows a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Pearce), whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum security prison. The film co-stars Peter Stormare and Tom Hollander.

FilmDistrict is set to release Lockout stateside on April 20, 2012 so I expect we’ll see an official domestic version soon enough, but for now here’s the international trailer with one eff bomb dropped in the final seconds for those of you watching from work.
