‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ Trailer: Angelina Jolie’s Directorial Debut

Angelina Jolie‘s directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey has a trailer as FilmDistrict has already set up a December 23 release date. It was a film that was, quite frankly, easy to forget considering we haven’t seen any stills and this is the first piece of marketing that’s arrived and even it comes via YouTube rather than a release through the normal channels.

Not only directed by, but written by Angelina Jolie, In the Land of Blood and Honey is set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War in the ’90s and illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict. The story would appear to center on the love story between a Muslim woman and a Serbian man. Zana Marjanovic (Paycheck), Rade Serbedzija (X-Men: First Class) and Goran Kostic (Taken) star. Brad Pitt may or may not have a cameo appearance.

Check out the trailer below and you tell me what kind of film we’re looking at. Fascinating debut? Oscar contender? Passing interest? What?
