You’ve Got to Watch the ‘Chronicle’ Trailer – Phoenix Jones Has Nothing on These Seattle Superheroes

Everyone saw what happens to superheroes in Seattle when Phoenix Jones was arrested after breaking up a fight using pepper spray (video here), but the superhero movement in Seattle remains unfazed as Jones, like Tony Stark before him, removed his mask and told reporters, “I am also Ben Fodor… I also am a father. I also am a brother. I’m just like everyone else. The only difference is that I decided to make a difference and stop crime in my neighborhood and my area.” Good on yah Phoenix, but it appears you may have some competition.

Yesterday the first trailer for Chronicle, a different kind of superhero film, debuted and knowing nothing about the film I decided to give this trailer a watch and… wow, I have to say, this is a film I want to see.

Centered on three high school students that stumble upon something underneath the ground, they each begin to exhibit super powers from increased strength to telepathic powers, but one of the members of the group soon things begin to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

The trailer brings the Paranormal Activity/found footage vibe to a superhero film attempting to establish itself in a more realistic world. Give the trailer a watch below and let me know what you think.

Chronicle hits theaters on February 3, 2012 and was directed by Josh Trank, written by Max Landis (son of director John Landis) and stars Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, Michael B. Jordan and Michael Kelly.
