Apple has debuted the much talked about teaser trailer for the secret J.J. Abrams directed and Steven Spielberg produced Super 8 of which Paramount has still not provided an official synopsis, but here’s what I put together after watching the trailer last week:
Written and directed by JJ Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment, Super 8 is set in 1979, and the U.S. Air Force has closed a section of Area 51 and ordered all materials be transported to a secure facility in Ohio when an accident causes the train transporting the materials to crash and an unidentified creature escaped.

Also, take notice of a final frame screen grab caught by The Playlist, which would seem to be of a young child. I included the capture at the lede of this article and you are only likely to catch it if you watch the HD version frame-by-frame. As Diandre Cole would say… What up wit dat?
Super 8 is expected Summer 2011, but an official release date has not yet been announced.
