The Hot Pursuit Trailer Teams Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon

The first trailer has just arrived for the upcoming action comedy Hot Pursuit, starring Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Walk the Line) and Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family,” Machete Kills). A Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and MGM production, Hot Pursuit follows an uptight and by the book cop (Witherspoon) who tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow of a drug boss (Vergara) as they race through Texas, pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.

Witherspoon had a busy 2014, starring in Jean-Marc Vallée’s Wild, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice and Philippe Falardeau’s The Good Lie. Vergara, meanwhile, starred in Jon Favreau’s Chef and continued on ABC’s “Modern Family” as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, earning her fourth Golden Globe nomination in a row for the series.

Also starring John Carroll Lynch (“American Horror Story,” Shutter Island), Rob Kazinsky (“True Blood,” Pacific Rim) and Richard T. Jones (“Hawaii Five-O,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), Hot Pursuit is directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, The Guilt Trip) and features a screenplay by David Feeney, John Quaintance, Dana Fox and Katherine Silberman.

Hot Pursuit hits theaters May 8, 2015.
