Testament of Youth is a story of love, war and remembrance, based on the World War I memoir by famed pacifist Vera Brittain, which has become a testimony of that war from a womans point of view. It chronicles Vera’s journey from youthful hopes and dreams to the edge of despair and back again as her fiance and all her friends leave to fight on the French Front during WWI, prompting her to enlist as a nurse and witness the horrors of war first hand.
The feature debut of television director James Kent, Testament of Youth stars Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) as Vera and Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”) as her fiance, along with Hayley Atwell, Dominic West, Emily Watson, Miranda Richardson, Colin Morgan and Taron Egerton. The film hits screens in the UK on January 16, 2015, and later next year in the US.
