Kelly Clarkson Joins Voice Cast of Trolls World Tour

According to Deadline, Kelly Clarkson has signed on to join the ensemble voice cast of Trolls World Tour for DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures’ forthcoming animated sequel. Clarkson will be lending her voice to the character of Delta Dawn, who is the mayor of the Country Trolls. She’s also set to sing one of the film’s original songs.

Trolls World Tour will continue to where the first film left off. It’s all glitter and happiness in Troll Town until Queen Poppy and Branch make a surprising discovery — there are other Troll worlds beyond their own, each defined by a different genre of music. When a mysterious threat puts all the Trolls across the land in danger, Poppy, Branch, and their band of friends must embark on an epic quest through unfamiliar terrain to do the impossible: create harmony among the diverse Trolls to unite them against certain doom.

Clarkson will join returning voice stars Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Justin Timberlake (The Social Network), James Corden (Ocean’s 8) as Biggie, Caroline Hjelt as Chenille, Aino Jawo as Satin, Ron Funches as Cooper, and Kunal Nayyar as Guy Diamond along with newcomers Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), Karan Soni (Deadpool) and Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect 2), Chance the Rapper (Slice) and Sam Rockwell.

Can’t stop the feeling as the colorful, wondrous Trolls return for Trolls 2, the follow-up to 2016’s breakout global hit about how far you’ll go for happiness…and how far you’ll go to get it back. Kendrick and Timberlake reprise their roles as the eternal optimist Poppy and the curmudgeon Branch in the new musical comedy-adventure from the creators of Shrek. Walt Dohrn (TrollsSpongeBob SquarePants) is set to return to direct the animated film, and Gina Shay will once again produce.

The first Trolls was directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrm, from a script by Erica Rivinoja, and earned $340 million worldwide.

This film won’t be the only animated project that Clarkson is currently working on. She has also joined the voice cast of STX’s Uglydolls as the film’s lead role starring alongside Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae and Blake Shelton.

Trolls World Tour is set to open on Friday, April 17, 2020.
