Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson Engage in a Sad Off

Since both Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson have major releases hitting theaters on Christmas Day, Funny or Die has brought together the respective stars of Les Misérables and Django Unchained for a special holiday greeting. That is, a special holiday greeting that rapidly degenerates into a “sad off” where both talents argue that their own film deals with the more serious issue.

Les Miserables, directed by Tom Hooper, also stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen while Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained has a cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette, M.C. Gainey, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA, Tom Wopat, James Remar, James Russo, Todd Allen and Jonah Hill.
