Warner Bros. is developing the true adventure tale Race to the South Pole with Casey Affleck attached to star. The Hollywood Reporter says that Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd will produce from a script by Peter Glanz.
Affleck will play Robert Falcon Scott, an English explorer who, as the title suggests, raced to the be first the reach the South Pole in the early 20th century. His chief comepetition (and likely the film’s other leading character) is Roald Amundsen, a Norwegian explorer.
Casey Affleck recently voiced a character in ParaNorman and will soon appear in Scott Cooper’s Out of the Furnace.
