Westworld's James Marsden In Talks For Stephen King Adaptation

Westworld’s James Marsden in Talks for Stephen King Adaptation

James Marsden is eyeing a role in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of the Stephen King novella, In the Tall Grass, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Written by King and his son Joe Hill, the novella follows a brother and sister venturing into a Kansas field after hearing a young boy crying out for help, only finding there may be no escape from the field. The adaptation will be written and directed by Vincenzo Natali, well-known for the cult sci-fi horrors Cube and Splice.

Stephen King’s library of work has become quite the hot commodity once again for films and television, with last year seeing four film adaptations including the monster hit IT, the monster flop The Dark Tower, as well as 1922 and Gerald’s Game, which were both produced and distributed by Netflix.

Though typically known for his work on the X-Men franchise, Marsden has found a new claim to fame with his role as gunfighter host Teddy Flood on HBO’s wildly-acclaimed series Westworld, which is currently in its second season.

Production on Grass is set to begin this summer in Toronto.
