Chan-wook Park, best known for his “Vengeance trilogy” (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance), is in talks to direct The Brigands of Rattleborge.
Written by S. Craig Zahler, the western follows a group of thieves that plunder a small town during a torrential rainstorm and the sherriff who leads the survivors to get their revenge.
Park recently completed production on his English-language debut, Stoker. That film stars Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode, Nicole Kidman, Dermot Mulroney, Jacki Weaver, Alden Ehrenreich and Lucas Till and is scheduled to hit theaters on March 1, 2013.
The Brigands of Rattleborge is being produced by Red Granite Pictures and Mythology Entertainment.
