The Hunt Release Date Revealed for Damon Lindelof Thriller

Universal Pictures has announced the release date for writer/producer Damon Lindelof’s upcoming politically-charged action thriller The Hunt, which will debut on screens September 27, 2019. The Hunt release date will be shared with Universal’s previously-announced animated comedy-adventure Everest.

The film will be directed by Craig Zobel, known for helming the indie dramas Compliance and Z for Zachariah, as well as work on the TV hits Outcast, American Gods and Westworld. The Hunt is written by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse, the minds behind the hit sci-fi drama The Leftovers.

Jason Blum produces for his Blumhouse Productions (Get Out, Split, The Purge series), alongside Lindelof for his White Rabbit shingle. Cuse and Zobel will executive produce.

Everest will follow a group of misfits who encounter a Yeti named Everest and must make the harrowing 3,000-mile journey from Shanghai to the Himalayan mountains to reunite the creature with his family. The film will be co-directed by Tim Johnson (Home, Over the Hedge) and Todd Wilderman (Open Season 2), while written by William Davies (How to Train Your Dragon, Puss in Boots).
