Rob Liefeld’s Bloodstrike Planned for the Big Screen

Adi Shankar’s production company, 1984 Private Defense Contractors, has secured the rights to Rob Liefeld’s Bloodstrike, Variety reports. They plan to bring the Image Comics super-team to the big screen.

First published in 1993, Bloodstrike details the adventures of a covert United States task force comprised of undead agents brought back to life with vampire blood.

Although the original series only ran 25 issues, Image Comics relaunched Bloodstrike earlier this year, limiting the team focus and instead following the adventures of leading Bloodstrike agent Cabbot Stone, the last surviving member of the original team.

Liefeld, Shankman and Brooklyn Weaver are attached to produce.
