Anna and the Apocalypse Musical Opening December 7

Orion Pictures has announced that the zombie Christmas musical Anna and the Apocalypse will be opening in select theaters on December 7, 2018, with a nationwide rollout planned for subsequent weeks.

The feature takes places in Little Haven on Christmas as a zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town, forcing Anna (Ella Hunt) and her high school friends to fight, sing and slash their way to survival with a fast-spreading undead horde in relentless pursuit. Teaming up with her best friend John (Malcolm Cumming), Anna and her crew fight their way through zombified snowmen, a ravenous bachelor party and high school hormones to try and save family and faculty alike.

John McPhail (Where Do We Go From Here?) directs a breakout cast led by Ella Hunt (Robot Overlords) alongside Malcolm Cummings, Ben Wiggins, Sarah Swire, Christopher Leveaux, Marli Siu, Mark Benton (The Halcyon), and Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones). Anna and the Apocalypse was written by Alan McDonald and the late Ryan McHenry (Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal videos). The film also features original music by Roddy Hart and Tommy Reilly.

Anna and the Apocalypse had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, garnering critical acclaim and quickly became an audience favorite going on to play at Sitges Film Festival where it won Best Midnight X-Treme Feature.
