Previously rumored as being in talks, Lindsay Lohan has now signed for Dimension Films’ Scary Movie 5, according to E!. The site says that Charlie Sheen will also be back for the fifth installment.
While it’s unknown which character Lohan may play, she will star opposite Ashley Tisdale (“High School Musical”) in the April 19, 2013 release. Sheen previously played Tom Logan in Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4.
Director Malcolm Lee is teaming up and working side by side with director David Zucker (the “Airplane” and “The Naked Gun” franchises) on the new film. Zucker wrote and directed the third and fourth films and is also co-writing and producing Scary Movie 5.
The “Scary Movie” franchise, which lampoons the greatest in horror and genre fare, has grossed over $800 million worldwide.
