Looper Launches an Interactive Website

On the heels of our Comic-Con interview earlier today with writer/director Rian Johnson, Looper has launched its official site at Loopermovie.com.

The site boasts an impressive interactive design and offers previously-released stills and trailers with the promise of more to come. There’s also a number of definitions for various Looper-centric terms sprinkled throughout such as the below, which helps to explain one of the trailer’s more unsual shots:

TK: Short for “telekinetic.” By 2040 a very low grade telekinetic power has developed in about 15% of the general population. Far from being a superpower, it’s weak and short range and mostly used for bar tricks.

At both the top and bottom of the page there’s also a link to the Looper Network, which appears to be a viral tie-in that has yet to fully launch. You can check it out by clicking the image below.

In the film, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

Looper hits theaters on September 28th.
